Dan Flounders , Jacksons Law Firm Dan Flounders has joined Jacksons Law Firm and is looking forward to the challenge of growing its corporate and commercial department .
Dan , a corporate and commercial legal adviser , is also relishing the opportunity to help younger solicitors develop their careers .
He anticipates increased activity in the department in the first quarter of 2025 , as business owners respond to recent changes in the autumn Budget , in which adjustments to capital gains tax and business asset disposal relief ( formerly Entrepreneurs ’ Relief ) were announced .
As a result , he says several SMEs have accelerated their succession plans and more entrepreneurs are looking for an exit strategy for their business before changes with adverse tax implications come into effect .
There is driving demand for expert legal advice on structuring business sales and acquisitions in a tax-efficient manner .
Dan trained at Archer ’ s Law in Stockton and quickly rose through the ranks , working his way up to partner .
The firm sold out to Knights in 2021 and Dan remained there until the opportunity arose to head up the corporate and commercial team at Jacksons .
Current head of the corporate and commercial department Tony Wentworth will continue to provide his experience to the busy department .

Dan Flounders , centre , Jacksons Law Firm journey with her German Shepherd – that inspired her career change .
“ My dog became really reactive after lockdown , and working with a behaviourist to help him was a real eye-opener ,” said Holly .
“ I loved the process so much that I decided to study canine and feline behaviour at university . When I saw Petpals hiring , I thought it would be a great way to gain experience , and I haven ’ t looked back since !”
Over the past year , Holly has worked closely with former owner David Gray , who quickly recognised her potential .
And when David decided to sell the business , he felt Holly would be the perfect person to carry it forward .
