Despite being the face of the company , Danielle still finds it hard to be in the spotlight , though she acknowledges that becoming Tees Businesswoman of the Year is bound to raise her own profile .
“ I ’ ve always been a shy person ,” she insists . “ To win this is fantastic , and it will open up new opportunities , but it ’ s for the whole team and the partners who ’ ve come with us .”
That said , as a mother of two young daughters – Lucia and Arabella – she is “ incredibly proud ” to have won an award that showcases women in business across Teesside .
“ The sectors I work in – tech and heavy industry – are historically male-dominated , so I hope it inspires the next generation to step into roles not traditionally associated with women .
“ And when I look at that list of six incredible women who have won the Tees Businesswoman of the Year award before me , it makes me wonder what we might be able to do if we came together as a group .”
However , she ’ s also conscious of not wanting the emphasis on women to overshadow the importance of the men she works with .
“ It ’ s important that Intasite becomes more diverse as we grow , but I never want to underestimate the men who do such a great job for our business ,” she says .
At home , Danielle has her girls and the “ amazing support ” of husband Chris .
“ He ’ s been one of my biggest supporters and has always believed in me ,” she says . “ He ’ s the push I sometimes need .”
A lifelong animal lover , she also has Charles , the cat , and loves to relax by riding her retired racehorse , Ted .
“ I ’ m just very happy with my life . I have a wonderful family and a fantastic team to work with in a successful business that ’ s growing – from here on Teesside ,” she says .
Her grandma , who died in 2019 , is also never far from Danielle ’ s thoughts as the woman who helped set her off on the right path .
“ Without her , I wouldn ’ t be where I am ,” she acknowledges .
