Treble top – Neil Trewick received Trew Surveying ’ s third Best New Business Award in three years in a presentation by Cornerstone ’ s Jamie Tinkler .
WINNER
TREW SURVEYING
He ’ s just bagged his third Best New Tees Business award – but Neil Trewick reckons it might be his last year as a “ one-man band ”.
Neil , of Ingleby Barwick , set up his firm , Trew Surveying , in 2022 , just days after being made redundant .
Since then , his business has gone from strength to strength – a fact recognised by his triple Best New Tees Business Awards successes .
In 2022 and 2023 , he won the Best New Sole Trader category . Now , in 2024 , he ’ s emerged with the Best New Services Business crown .
In a hard-fought category , Neil ’ s commitment to surveying excellence shone through . But he admits things will probably have to change . He said : “ This is my last year as a newish business and I think it will be my last year as a one-man band .
“ Life and the business is going to force me to expand and that will be scary and out of my comfort zone . But realistically , it ’ s probably something I have to do to move to the next level .”
Having twice secured the Best New Sole Trader crown , Neil admits that being named Best New Services Business felt “ really special ”.
“ I ’ m just a one-man band – I do well at what I do but I don ’ t try to compete with anybody else .
“ It feels like time to start something new again because I ’ ve probably cracked what I ’ m doing now – I ’ m all right at it . And winning awards like this will help when I do bring staff in – they ’ ll understand I ’ m not a flash in the pan .
“ I ’ m pretty good at what I ’ m doing and they ’ re coming to a reputable company . Stuff like this shows we ’ ve got good morals and that ’ s what I ’ ve built the company on – providing a service for local people and doing the best I can for everybody . That ’ s what I still try to do and will always do , so hopefully it will keep going .”
