New roles – Jacksons Law Firm ’ s head of the corporate and commercial team Tony Wentworth , head of operations Amie Callan and head of legal Erica Turner .
They are the firm ’ s current charities of the year , as voted for by colleagues . “ We are ambitious and forwardthinking and we want to be strategic , innovative and diverse – but it ’ s not just about increasing revenue , although that is , of course , a key part of our strategy ,” Amie says .
“ I think it is really important going forward that , while we have ambitions to grow , we want to bring everyone with us .
“ It ’ s not selfish ambition , it ’ s an ambition to bring everyone in the region up with us and as the firm grows in revenue and profit , we will be able to support more local organisations .”
As to what growth might look like , having cemented its place in Newcastle , the firm is planning to develop and grow in the city even further , offering more specialisms from that office .
Speaking of her own successive promotions , Amie acknowledges that having an accountant at the top of the tree is also something quite groundbreaking for a law firm .
“ I joined Jacksons in 2018 and I have never looked back ,” she says .
“ It ’ s an amazing place to work , with its employees at the heart of the business .
“ It ’ s a privilege to be involved and to be able to make positive changes and continuously improve .”
Erica points out Amie brings with her a different skill set that the firm wouldn ’ t benefit from had it taken a more traditional approach .
“ She brings strategies , innovations and plans from previous manufacturing experience to the firm , so I think Jacksons is lucky to have her as much as she feels privileged to be working in a management role at Jacksons ,” Erica says .
“ Amie has the innovation and new techniques from her external experience , whereas I have the experience of having been in legal practice at the firm for 20 years , knowing where it was , where it is now and having the vision of where it could be . “ We really do work well in tandem .” Amie adds : “ We are both equally excited about what the future of the firm looks like .”
