Why ambitious engineering firms are turning to Cornerstone
In our web-dominated world , effective marketing matters more than ever . And that ’ s why ambitious engineering and manufacturing companies are outsourcing their marketing requirements to visual and virtual expert Cornerstone Marketing Solutions .
CMS is providing a bespoke service to an expanding client-base of extremely satisfied engineering-focused customers based in the region , including several with a global reach .
The tech-savvy Teesside-based firm has emerged as go-to experts in its field , providing a variety of key services for high-profile businesses such as GS-Hydro , CIAS , Turkington Engineering and Applied Integration .
A flexible service provision is vital because a client may want Cornerstone to take care of just one specific aspect of its marketing requirements or , as is often the case , to look after its entire needs .
Summing up the firm ’ s ability to cover all the bases when it comes to providing marketing expertise , CMS creative director Jamie Tinkler says : “ We ’ re something of a digital Swiss Army knife !”
He then adds : “ We offer clients different services such as videography , social media management and web design .
“ Some clients are taking video , some are taking web , some are taking social media and some are taking all three of the services we provide .
“ What ’ s more , we work with companies that are just starting out and we work with well-established companies , including one that has been going for 50 years .”
Cornerstone is rightly proud that several of the region ’ s most successful engineering businesses have opted to forge partnerships that have gone from strength-to-strength .
And new clients want a slice of the action too . In fact , this summer has seen electrical contractor Powercare Electrical Services – the firm that provides uplighting for landmarks such as Middlesbrough Town Hall and Newport Bridge – climb aboard the CMS bandwagon .
Outlining Cornerstone ’ s USP , sales director Chris Bibby says : “ A lot of companies are great at what they do but they are not always great at shouting about it .
“ That ’ s where we come in . We often fill the role of marketing manager for a client , but we can also work alongside existing marketing departments to plug the gaps they may have in their organisations .”
Cornerstone is a one-stop-shop for a client ’ s marketing needs . Companies often don ’ t have the in-house operatives and the skill sets to create written content , videos and photographs for marketing purposes .
Potential clients may also lack the expertise to deliver that content efficiently and effectively .
“ We pride ourselves on high-end quality when it comes to the final end product that the public will see ,” explains Jamie .
“ A client can obviously highlight the work they are doing but wouldn ’ t be able to deliver it in the way we would deliver something .
“ We are getting this work from the engineering sector because we provide creative solutions for companies .
“ We ’ re proud of the design work Adam Greenwood does as our lead designer . I deliver to Adam the imagery , the photography and the videography and then he repurposes that within the client ’ s brand guidelines .
“ We ’ re delighted to have Chloe Norster , a recent addition to the social media department , as our head of social .
“ She ’ s a master of strategy and works so well with clients and has built up a great

rapport . We ’ ve already seen excellent results from her work on social media platforms for our existing clients .”
Cornerstone ’ s clients include firms working at the cutting edge of technological development , such as robotics and automation experts Applied Integration and world-leading piping firm GS-Hydro .
Jamie says : “ Applied Integration from Stokesley has been having a big refurb and we ’ ve been doing a time-lapse showing the changes that are going on , not only within the products they deliver to their clients but also the actual logistics and how the business is growing as well .”
“ GS-Hydro is a global company ,” says Chris . “ We started with a UK website for them and now the other countries within the group are contacting us to help with their websites and we are now doing the global social media for the group as well as in the UK .”
