50-UP FOR WASTE FIRM A thriving Teesside business that specialises in processing industrial waste has hit a significant landmark by welcoming its 50th member of staff .
Leading waste management company CSG acquired the assets of Wilton Waste in 2010 and Harpers Environmental Services out of administration in 2012 .
At the time , the business had just four staff , but recently welcomed its 50th employee .

‘ HELP US TALK UP TEESSIDE ’ – HOUCHEN

Teessiders are being encouraged to Talk Up Teesside by helping to circulate a publication which is promoting the Tees region to the UK and beyond .

And a top prize is being offered to those who sends us the best picture of them holding the magazine – whether that be on Teesside or in any other part of the world .
Resolution Media and Publishing – the team behind Tees Business – have published the fourth annual issue of This Is Tees Valley .
Almost 3,000 copies have already been mailed to a national database of companies , including pension investment funds , large manufacturing businesses and companies in the green energy and biosciences sectors .
Another 3,000 copies have been circulated across the North-East region , including the Tyne and Wear areas .
The magazine will also go to national conferences and events , including UKREiiF 2025 in Leeds , and copies are also available to pick up in the departures and arrivals areas at Teesside Airport .
Publication partners Tees Valley Combined Authority are mailing a copy to every UK MP , as well as circulating it to their contacts .
Tees Business and Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen are now encouraging businesses to get involved by taking copies of This Is Tees Valley to events – and spreading it as far and as wide as possible .

“ I ’ m passionate about us shouting as loudly as possible about the incredible work being done to make our region a fantastic place to live , work and visit .
“ That ’ s why This Is Tees Valley is so important in showcasing all that ’ s great about our area and why I ’ m bringing it to the attention of those in power to let them know too .”
Resolution director Martin Walker added : “ We want to get copies of This Is Tees Valley in the hands of as many people as possible , particularly investors and influencers .
“ But we also want to get it as far and wide as possible , so we ’ re encouraging Teessiders to take them on their business travels , or even their holidays , and send us pictures of them holding the magazine in far flung places .
“ Let ’ s all shout as loud as we can about what a fantastic region Teesside is to live , work and invest .”
Resolution are offering a half-page advert in a future issue of Tees Business as well as a meal for two at Acklam Hall for the best picture of This Is Tees Valley 2024-25 .

BAZAAR BACKING Bazaar , the exciting new restaurant in Middlesbrough town centre , will “ wow visitors from far and wide ”, Middlesbrough mayor Chris Cooke believes .
Mr Cooke was given a tour of the Captain Cook Square restaurant and left full of excitement for the opening .
Owned by Tarek Thoma , Bazaar ’ s website promises it will combine “ modern cooking techniques with ancient methods ”. The restaurant will create 50 jobs .
BUSINESS PARK BOON A new Tees business park has secured three new tenants after a multi-million-pound investment by its owners .
UK Land Estates finished constructing three speculative , Grade A industrial units at Teesside Industrial Estate in August 2023 , representing a £ 5m investment .
Less than a year later , all three units have now been let , with Park Electrical Distributors , Power Plastics and Lookers all agreeing to move onto the 300-acre business park .
HOMES GET APPROVAL Plans for 1,260 new homes in Hartlepool look set to go ahead after receiving approval from Hartlepool Council .
A hybrid application by housebuilder Persimmon has been approved that would see 1,260 new homes built on land between the A689 and Brierton Lane
Built in five phases , the development will provide a range of one-to-five-bedroom homes , with 121 properties being transferred to local housing associations or sold at a reduced market rate .
