TRICORE TECHNICAL SERVICES
These are exciting times for the Tees tech scene – especially with developments such as the offshore wind energy sector ’ s rapid growth .
That ’ s the message from Paul Bass , director of Tricore Technical Services – the 2024 winner of the Tees Tech Awards Small Business of the Year title .
Standing at the forefront of the offshore and transport sectors , and specialising in AI / VR integration , Tricore – formed by a merger of Trident and Core Systems Software – operates globally from its base on Stockton ’ s Preston Farm Business Park .
It was shortlisted for three awards on the big night – Rising Star , Digital Innovation and Small Business of the Year .
And to triumph in the Small Business category , sponsored by Invest In Middlesbrough , was , says Paul , a fantastic feeling .
“ I ’ m over the moon , really pleased . It ’ s been a busy year and we ’ ve been shortlisted for three tonight , but to get the Small Business title means a lot ,” said Paul .
“ At the moment , we ’ ve got lots of people working offshore and nine people at HQ – we ’ re growing rapidly .
“ And after going through our recent merger , we ’ re building on it , getting a lot more work in and these are exciting times .
“ We have two Innovate UK projects ongoing , plus the offshore work , and the electrical installations we work on is a growing sector as well .
“ Then there ’ s a commercial management project that ’ s growing and is going to be released , so we ’ ve got lots of things coming in the next year and we ’ re over the moon to get recognised this way .”
By providing cutting-edge , cost-effective solutions alongside its electrical and testing services , Tricore is driving the global shift towards net zero .
And with so much activity in the offshore sector , including the world ’ s biggest offshore windfarm , Dogger Bank , and the SeAH wind turbine factory on Teesworks , Paul says the Tees Valley is a “ really good place to be ”.
