Sembcorp experienced more success when it won the Training and Apprenticeships category at this year ’ s Tees Business Awards .

JOSEPH BROWN , ELECTRICAL APPRENTICE Throughout his electrical apprenticeship , Joseph has worked across a variety of different assets at Sembcorp ’ s Wilton International site and all this experience has honed a keen eye for safety .
“ Safety onsite is the number one priority – no one comes to work to be injured ,” says Joseph .
“ During one outage , I was recognised for a proactive approach to safety and won a safety award for reporting a situation that I recognised as a potential hazard .
“ I was also inspired to join Sembcorp ’ s Safety-COM Champions programme , which brings volunteers from across the business together to increase safety awareness and understanding .”
LOWRI HASWELL , PROCESS OPERATIONS APPRENTICE Lowri undertook a process operations apprenticeship with Sembcorp and after completing early , he is now a level one outside operator and working towards a role inside the control room to achieve his level two qualification .
“ Sembcorp ’ s apprenticeship programme is a fantastic opportunity for anyone keen to learn , develop and gain valuable skills in industry ,” says Lowri .
