Tees Business team delivers smash hit Aycliffe awards night

The team behind Tees Business delivered a hugely-successful awards night on behalf of Aycliffe Business Park in May .

Resolution Media and Publishing agreed a three-year deal with Aycliffe Business Park Community to deliver their Make Your Mark Awards , with the 2024 event being held in front of almost 250 people at Hardwick Hall Hotel .
And Aycliffe manufacturer Senstronics picked up a huge double win in a dramatic ceremony hosted by BBC Tees presenter Gary Philipson .
Resolution director Martin Walker said : “ We ’ re immensely proud to have delivered these awards .
“ It was our first foray into contract event delivery , so we ’ re delighted our debut external event was such a success .”
Resolution has already established five key awards events in the Tees region ,

NETA Training has unveiled plans for the development of its £ 14m purposebuilt centre in Thornaby .

A flagship project of the Thornaby Town Deal , the new campus will further enhance the delivery of quality engineering and construction training , within the borough , for young people and adults .
“ After many months in the pipeline we are excited to be bringing the brand-new NETA Training site to Thornaby ,” said the Education Training Collective ’ s chief operating officer Phil Hastie .
“ NETA has a long history of meeting the skills needs of employers in our region and beyond , this development will now bring together NETA ’ s industrial heritage with fantastic new facilities .”
Made possible with £ 4.5m from the government ’ s Town Deal fund , and delivered in partnership with Stockton Council and
including the Tees Business Awards , Tees Businesswomen Awards , Tees Tech Awards , Best New Tees Business Awards and VelociTees .
“ As our stable of awards events has grown in recent years , we were delighted to be asked to deliver these awards for a different area , and which complement our existing events ,” added Martin .
“ And we ’ re confident our Resolution team – with the support of the Aycliffe Business Park Community board – will be able to build on the momentum of 2024 and establish Make Your Mark as one of the biggest business awards events in the North-East .”
Senstronics – which supplies transducers that use proprietary technology and techniques – beat off strong competition from BTS Facades & Fabrications , Primex Plastics and Husqvarna for the big award of the night .
NETA Training shares plans for new £ 14m facility in Thornaby
Development – a CGI of NETA Training ’ s new £ 14m purpose-built centre in Thornaby .
with the support of the Thornaby Town Deal Board , the new building will be situated on the Stockton Riverside College site , with work expected to start late in the summer .
Further funding has been secured from the Department for Education and investment from the Education Training Collective ( Etc .).

STATION WORK STARTS The major redevelopment of the Grade II listed Redcar Central Station has started .
Conservation works to transform it from an empty , dilapidated building into a vibrant , more welcoming gateway to the town began in May .
The building will function both as a leisure and retail hub as well as a key transport link , providing rail facilities including ticket machines , travel information and covered waiting areas as well as food and drink outlets throughout the day and evening .
TOWN CENTRE PLANS Councillors will consider proposals to purchase part of Billingham Town Centre as part of a continued commitment to invest in the town and bring about transformational change .
The plans , subject to cabinet approval in June , would see the purchase of the West Precinct including the former library site and Queensway South buildings from owners Evolve Properties .
If approved , Stockton Council will work alongside the centre owners to relocate businesses within these areas , enabling the site to be demolished and the centre redeveloped .
TEESWORKS JOBS BOOST Sixty-five jobs are being created after global integrated logistics and materials management specialist , ASCO , secured a contract to provide a range of services at the Teesworks site .
The three-year contract will see ASCO providing a range of services at Teesworks ’ South Bank Heavy Lift Quay , tailored to support the burgeoning offshore energy sector .
HOUSING DEVELOPMENT A vision for a £ 120m housing and commercial development planned for Hartlepool waterfront as part of major regeneration efforts has been backed .
Hartlepool Development Corporation has approved to progress work on proposals for a mixed 650-home development alongside additional retail , leisure and medical facilities across several key brownfield sites .
