More than 100 attendees learnt a series of interior design tips while enjoying afternoon tea at Gisborough Hall when Tees Business hosted Sip & Style , a fundraiser for the Power of Women campaign .
Guest speaker Peter Turner of Yarm ’ s Cocoon & Bauer , winner of the Company of the Year title at the Tees Businesswomen Awards , made a presentation about the impact interior design can have on your personal wellbeing .
Sponsored by Stockton ’ s OOK Design , the event raised more than £ 2,000 for the Power of Women ( PoW ) campaign , focused on raising the aspirations and ambitions of the region ’ s girls and young women .
The event was hosted by PoW ’ s head of operations Claire Preston , while Tees Business director Dave Allan , who is also a PoW director , said : “ We were proud to help raise funds to power the PoW campaign that is helping change lives across our region .
“ Along with myself , both PoW chair Jane Armitage and Maxine Freer of event sponsor OOK paid tribute to the late Professor Jane Turner ’ s impact in kickstarting PoW , so it was particularly fitting that Jane ’ s mum , Lorna , was among the guests .

PoW chair Jane Armitage , who , like Claire Preston , is a former Tees Businesswoman of the Year , said : “ The Power of Women campaign was delighted and very grateful to Tees Business for organising Sip & Style .
“ It was a lovely afternoon , full of positivity , with a great presentation from Cocoon & Bauer and a delicious afternoon tea from Gisborough Hall .
“ It was a privilege to meet with so many of our supporters and friends while raising funds to enable PoW to continue its work of raising aspirations of young people and promoting equality .”
