When I think about the culture of businesses in Teesside , one word springs to mind … grafters . In fact , I ’ m convinced that if someone were to leave a TripAdvisor review on the region ’ s work ethic , that review would say : “ Teessiders are the most inspiring bunch of grafters I ’ ve ever seen … five-and-a-half stars !”
So , as a result of that , I can ’ t think of anywhere better to be the birthplace of my business “ ad-ventures ” than Teesside . These have included offices on Victoria Road , Phoenix Building , Boho 4 and now the everimpressive co-working space at Flok on Middlesbrough ’ s Albert Road .
And it doesn ’ t stop there . The majority of our team have strong roots in Teesside , including Marcus and Martin , who are undeniably the most Boro people you ’ ll meet .
Speaking of celebrating the people of this region , I ’ m excited to ask you to flip to the pages of this issue of Tees Business to where you ’ ll find stories from some of the most poignant events of the year , the Tees Businesswomen Awards and Best New Tees Business Awards .
And , as a restaurateur myself , it ’ s serendipitous that I find myself introducing the issue that features the annual poll on the region ’ s best restaurants . Spoiler alert : this hasn ’ t influenced the results in any way !
Thinking ahead to 2024 , I ’ m looking forward to continuing to lead the fastest-growing and what I believe to be the most creative digital marketing agency in Teesside . We ’ ll also be working on more feel-good projects in the community , like our rebrand for Butterwick Hospice , which you can read about on page 182 . And hopefully , at some point , I ’ ll get to meet you – the grafter who ’ s holding this magazine – for a chat over a Flokking good coffee some time soon .
