Tricore ’ s methods are working globally
A
rapidly growing Tees Valley firm is rolling out its services worldwide after successfully proving its products and expertise can add value on a global scale .
Since Tricore Technical Services was formed by the merger of Trident Technical Services and Core Systems Software , as reported in the autumn issue of Tees Business , there have been huge steps forward .
Tricore is now a dynamic player in the offshore wind industry , offering a comprehensive suite of services that seamlessly blend cutting-edge digital solutions with professional installation and maintenance expertise .
In the digital realm , Tricore specialises in project and contract management , providing real-time data and digital tools for decision-makers and operations teams .
Its pioneering work in digital twin technology involves LiDAR ( light detection and ranging ) modelling , AI and VR to enhance project efficiency and safety .
Tricore excels in providing a comprehensive suite of electrical services tailored for the energy sector ,
Vision – Tricore generates virtual reality inductions for clients on projects that include training scenarios , hazard perceptions and work instructions for high-risk activity sites .
encompassing electrical high voltage , low voltage , fibre optic installations , and testing .
Moreover , the company distinguishes itself by utilising its own project and asset management software , further enhancing its capacity to deliver efficient and streamlined solutions .
Tricore ’ s expertise extends to managing balance of plant and statutory inspections to various clientele in the energy sector , particularly in the wind energy industry .
Earlier this year Tricore completed a project in Saint-Nazaire , France , involving an offshore substation ( OSS ) for a wind farm .
The LiDAR scan was employed to closely replicate the substation , which was then used by technical development manager Prasanna Dinesh to create a digital twin of the asset , which provides a VR environment .
Director Paul Bass said : “ To improve safety we went out to the site in Saint- Nazaire and did a LiDAR scan of the whole asset .
“ By offering walkthroughs of project sites in near real-time , clients can identify errors and potential problems before it ’ s too late , all without needing to be physically present .
“ This innovative approach not only saved time and money for the client but also improved installation quality and safety .
“ They might have sent eight engineers over there , but we scanned it and replaced thousands of photographs and documents , and they can inspect the whole project , have a good walk around , without even being there . It ’ s incredible .”
Tricore generates virtual reality inductions for clients on projects that include training scenarios , hazard perceptions and work instructions for high-risk activity sites . That makes the environment safer , more efficient and , generally , less hazardous .
Paul added : “ We are reducing risks , and we can train people how to do a job remotely – they are familiar with their environment before arriving on site .”
Tricore ’ s reach extends beyond France , with contracts in the renewable energy sectors in Denmark , Rhode Island , Scotland and Taiwan , and the company ’ s expansion is leading to the creation of new roles .
Tricore ’ s development has seen Emma Bass promoted to a role as surveying manager . Saint-Nazaire was her first offshore scanning project after undergoing 28 days of thorough training to secure GWO qualifications .
Additionally , the company has introduced an office manager role filled by Katie Reed , who is responsible for ensuring that the software used to manage contracts and assets is completed and maintained correctly .
Tricore maintains close collaborations with universities in Teesside , Newcastle and Sunderland to stay at the forefront of technology trends and offer opportunities for employment .
The combination of LiDAR technology and project and asset management software at Tricore is revolutionising project documentation .
The company employs QR codes to link assets to relevant documents , ensuring efficient access to essential information .
Tricore ’ s innovative approach is setting new standards in the offshore and renewable energy sectors , improving safety , efficiency and project management . The company ’ s global expansion is a testament to the impact of its pioneering work .
