Founder Aaron Moody ’ s digital design firm , North Digital , uses a small team of trusted freelancers and contractors to help an impressive portfolio of well-known companies .
But Aaron , who says he was “ surprised but honoured ” to receive the Small Business trophy , believes his business model is one of North Digital ’ s strengths .
“ I want to keep the company small so maybe I embody the ‘ small ’ aspect of the award quite well ,” said Aaron . “ We do everything from branding to websites to mobile applications . The plan for the company is to grow a little bit larger but I do want to keep it small – I ’ m passionate about that , keeping the company small and relying on local freelancers .
“ When I took the plunge to go into a company , I had years of freelancing to lean on and attract those big clients .
“ At the moment I want to keep it below 10 , but who knows what the future holds ? I am maybe looking to bring on some interns to try and grow the business but also pass down some knowledge and give some experience to the younger generation – that might be my next step for the business .
“ I ’ d wanted to do web design and be in the digital scene pretty much since I was 10 or 12 years old , so I ’ ve been very lucky that l ’ ve known what I wanted to do from a young age . I certainly didn ’ t envisage having an award-winning company , though !”

Snippets of popular tunes are used so that bite-size tasks are created , leading to rapid progress and high levels of engagement . Celebrity masterclasses can then extend advanced learners towards professional careers .
