Team game – Dave and Martin say their team – including Bob , Vicky , Carol , Lisa , Dave and Chris are key to their success .
We believe in championing and celebrating the business community and raising the profile of Teesside .”
female business leaders and role models – and inspired Resolution ’ s first Tees Businesswomen Awards .
Through this - and with the vision of the late Professor Jane Turner OBE - the Power of Women was born .
The success of the Power of Women campaign , demonstrated by increasing numbers of women now being named in the Tees Business annual InspiraTees poll , is just one of the many ways Resolution Publishing has demonstrated it is a small business making a big impact .
In fact , Tees Business is what Dave likes to call “ Teesside ’ s biggest little brand ”, with its passion for celebrating people working for the wide variety of SMEs who are the beating heart of Teesside shining through .
“ I don ’ t think there ’ s another team on Teesside with such an instantly recognised name ,” he says .
Martin adds : “ Our clients now include a Who ’ s Who of the region leading business names , but it was a slog in the early days . It took a while to get Tees Business really established – probably about three years - but once we started launching awards events , that kicked things on .”
The pair credit the wider staff team for helping them to become a “ slicker operation ”.
“ We couldn ’ t have got this far without the team that ’ s behind us ,” Martin says . “ For many years , there was just the two of us until we realised we could only go so far on our own .”
This team effort has enabled them to tell the stories of businesses of all sizes doing “ incredible ” things across the Tees Valley .
Dave explains : “ We all get to hear about the big headline-smashing stories about jobs being created or lost , or super plants being built , but beneath that level there are dozens , if not hundreds , of fascinating , incredible businesses and individuals , who are the absolute bedrock of the community .
“ These businesses and those who run them create jobs - and let ’ s not forget this is people ’ s livelihoods we are talking about .
“ They might not have a big headline to shout about , they are just getting on with doing what they are good at , but what we ’ ve tapped into is that there ’ s an absolute thirst from businesses of all sizes and across all sectors to get their messages and their stories out there .”
Through doing just that , Dave and Martin have been the driving force behind a positive , active and collaborative network of businesses that are collectively putting Teesside on the map .
“ When we started out with Tees Business , we believed we were building something that went beyond just printing a magazine ,” Dave said . “ We are both incredibly passionate about the region and what we do , so we try to make a difference .
“ Yes , we are a business , but we are all about doing something that ’ s going to make a positive change .
“ We believe in championing and celebrating the business community and raising the profile of Teesside . We ’ ve always looked for ways we can do that .”
One of the most satisfying things about being part of “ Teesside ’ s biggest little brand ” comes from seeing the difference their many awards nights make .
“ When you see what it means to people to be a finalist and you hear the roar go up when someone wins , it ’ s the most satisfying feeling ,” Dave says . “ There ’ s no better feeling than realising , ‘ We created that ’.”
However , working in such a talented , friendly and picturesque region , where businesses collaborate and celebrate one another , is the biggest reward of all .
Dave says : “ As a region and a group of people , we ’ ve taken our fair share of knocks , so it ’ s been great over the last few years to see some positive headlines around developments coming to the Tees Valley .
“ Like every passionate Teessider , we hope to see the momentum continue – and we ’ ll be behind it every step of the way .”
