New recruits to power campaign
The Power of Women ( PoW ) campaign has welcomed a new member of staff and two new directors to its team .
Sophie McKenna is PoW ’ s new campaign manager , while Bev Goodall of AbacusBean and Professor Natasha Vall of Teesside University have joined the board of a campaign dedicated to inspiring young people to positively reassess their aspirations and ambitions .
Welcoming the trio , PoW chair Jane Armitage , a former Tees Businesswoman of the Year , said : “ The PoW board is delighted to be joined by Bev and Natasha , who will strengthen our team with their skills and their enthusiasm for the campaign .
“ Bev brings an amazing knowledge of all things financial while Natasha ’ s knowledge of business and education together with strategies for the two to work together will be invaluable .
“ We are also thrilled to have appointed Sophie as our new campaign manager .
We had a very strong field of candidates and Sophie ’ s marketing skills in both the education and charity sectors stood out along with her enthusiasm for our campaign and Tees Valley .
“ With Sophie on board , we hope we will be able to grow our reach to raise the aspirations of even more young people in our region .
“ Sophie will work alongside Claire Preston , who has done a fabulous job developing PoW ’ s programmes and reach over the last year and will continue to work with PoW in a strategic role .”

Bev is MD of Stockton-based accountancy AbacusBean , former winners of the Small Business of the Year at the Tees Businesswomen Awards .
Prior to joining PoW , Sophie contributed her skills to national charity Shaw Trust , where she helped develop and execute marketing campaigns . She has also worked in various marketing and recruitment roles within further education , while she recently achieved a master ’ s degree in Marketing Management at Teesside University .
