Airport gives This Is Tees Valley global reach

Teesside Airport is giving national publication This Is Tees Valley wings to reach people around the world as well as the UK . Copies of This Is Tees Valley are now available for passengers and visitors to pick up in the arrivals , departures and VIP areas .

And with more than 7,000 copies already circulated to all corners of the UK , the team behind the magazine say they ’ re delighted to see its distribution reaching its potential .
Just under 3,000 copies of This Is Tees Valley have been mailed to a national UK mailing list purchased by Resolution Media and Publishing , the Middlesbrough-based company behind the publication .
The list is made up of property investors , investment fund managers and large manufacturing companies , as well as SMEs operating in the energy , biotech and IT sectors .
Teesside Airport is going even further in supporting the UK ’ s net zero agenda as the government announced it would become home to a new permanent hydrogen refuelling station .
The airport previously housed a temporary refuelling station and secured low-emission hydrogen-fuelled vehicles as part of the region ’ s Tees Valley Hydrogen Transport Hub trial in 2021 .
Now , after being successful in the government ’ s latest £ 8m Hydrogen Transport Hub Demonstration , it will host a permanent hydrogen refuelling station .
Transport secretary Mark Harper made the announcement at Teesside Airport alongside Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen and representatives from Element 2 .
Element 2 , which established the previous station at the airport , will set up another temporary refuelling station during 2024 and then a new permanent station from late 2024 to early 2025 .
As well as being used by the vehicles

More than 1,000 copies have been distributed to organisations in the Tees region who have requested them to send to national contacts and fly the Tees flag at exhibitions and events .
The Tees Valley Combined Authority is also mailing more than 1,000 copies to a national database , as well as to every MP in Britain .
A few hundred remaining copies have been retained for national events and exhibitions .
Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen was a special guest at an event to launch This Is Tees Valley 2023-24 , attended by more than 150 business delegates at Wynyard Hall in July ( see page 12 ).

currently located at the airport , it will also provide fuel for hydrogen vehicles being trialled by local commercial fleets and authorities .
IVe , which is delivering the next generation of sustainable light goods vehicles , is part of the project and will be trialling hydrogen vans at the site .
A second project , led by ULEMCo , will develop hydrogen-powered airport groundbased support vehicles .
Awards inspiring measurable change
Tees Business director Dave Allan considers the impact of the Tees Businesswomen Awards …

As one of the organisers of the

Tees Businesswomen Awards , I ’ m privileged to witness firsthand the profound impact these awards have in ushering positive change , creating role models and empowering the next generation of women .
In an era that demands progress , the Tees Businesswomen Awards stand tall as a beacon of transformation . They are not merely recognition – they are a declaration that outdated norms have no place in our modern landscape .
The Tees Businesswomen Awards are more than just an annual event – they are a movement for change . They spotlight the stories of those who have shattered ceilings , casting light on the diverse ways women are impacting our industries and businesses .
The legacy of these awards lies not only in celebrating success but in creating a ripple effect that will inspire generations to come .
And their impact can be directly measured by the incredible increase in the number of women listed in our annual poll in which we ask local businesspeople to vote for their most inspiring counterparts . Six years ago , just three women made the top 30 , creating the springboard for a thought process that resulted in the launch of the Tees Businesswomen Awards .
As you can read in this issue of Tees Business , this year the top 30 includes no fewer than 17 women , with females outnumbering males for the first time .
It ’ s absolutely not enough , of course , but it ’ s a real measure of clear progress and , I hope and believe , a concrete sign that , when it comes to the recognition of businesswomen , Teesside leads the way .
