Will you enter your business or nominate someone for the Tees Businesswomen Awards ? deadline : Friday July 21 !
Entries and nominations are now open for the sixth annual Tees Businesswomen Awards as organisers go in search of successors to the likes of Kimberley Turner , Claire Preston , Jane Armitage , Sharon Lane and Chloë Clover .
Organised by Tees Business , the prestigious awards will be headline sponsored for a sixth successive year by Northern Skills Group , the apprenticeship and training arm of Middlesbrough College .
Zoe Lewis , principal and chief executive of Middlesbrough College Group , said : “ I would urge more women to put themselves forward for the awards and for anyone to nominate outstanding businesswomen in their lives so that we can shout about their achievements and help to highlight some more fantastic role models .”
The life-changing awards were first held in 2018 and have become an important date in Teesside diaries , with more than 440 attendees at last year ’ s event .
The Tees Businesswomen Awards 2023 will be held in the Grand Marquee , at Hardwick Hall Hotel , on the evening of Thursday , September 28 .
Last year ’ s winner of the coveted Tees Businesswoman of the Year title was Kimberley Turner , finance director at Double Eleven , an international games studio headquartered in the heart of
Middlesbrough .
“ I had no idea I was being nominated this time last year but was , of course , grateful and humbled to receive a nomination ,” said Kimberley .
“ To actually win on the night was just brilliant . That evening was definitely an unforgettable career moment for me .”
She urged others to “ make it happen ” for amazing women they know by nominating them for an individual category .
Tees Business director Dave Allan said : “ We couldn ’ t be prouder to host these game-changing awards .
“ Over the past six years , we ’ ve celebrated success , challenged conventions and changed perceptions about what girls and women can and should aspire to do and achieve .
“ We created numerous role models across a range of sectors for the next generation to aspire to , giving them the belief that they can go further , achieve more and pursue careers in directions once perceived as ‘ men ’ s roles ’.
“ We ’ re also proud to have helped create a network of local businesswomen , arguably stronger than anywhere else in the UK , and certainly stronger than networks for businessmen in our region .
“ Our thanks again to all of our sponsors , especially headline sponsor Northern Skills Group , for putting us in a perfect position to deliver even further on all that ’ s been achieved so far .”
The deadlines for entries and nominations is Friday July 21 .
Recognition – Twelve winners will receive a trophy at the annual awards .
This year ’ s Tees Businesswomen Awards will again take place in the Grand Marquee , at Hardwick Hall Hotel , on the evening of Thursday , September 28 .
