C-TECH ’ S INVESTMENT A company that specialises in infrastructure networks and fibre optic cabling has secured a sixfigure investment package from UKSE to support its ambitious plan for further growth .
C-Tech Solutions , based in Guisborough , designs , delivers and maintains integrated networking systems , cabling and associated technologies across the UK and Europe .

COLLEGE LAUNCHES £ 3.2M
CLEAN ENERGY HUB
Redcar and Cleveland College has opened the doors to its Clean Energy Education Hub , part of a recent £ 6.5m investment in college facilities .
Made possible by the Redcar Town Deal investment plan , the new £ 3.2m training centre will focus on giving people the skills to meet the demands of Teesside ’ s growing renewable and low-carbon sector .
“ We are incredibly proud to deliver this outstanding new facility that responds to the exciting clean energy employment opportunities across the Tees Valley ,” said Redcar and Cleveland College principal Jason Faulkner .
The college has worked in collaboration with Redcar and Cleveland Council and industry giants , including bp and Northern Gas Networks , who stepped up to help shape plans .
The Clean Energy Education Hub ’ s £ 2.4m capital injection is a flagship of the Town Deal Fund .
Darren Winter , chair of the Redcar Town Deal Board , said : “ The Redcar Town Deal board is delighted to have been able to support this fantastic project .
“ It will make a positive difference in the lives of people in Redcar and the surrounding area by equipping them with the relevant skills needed now in jobs and in the future , especially in new technologies .” The Clean Energy Education Hub will specialise in clean and renewable industry training for school leavers , apprentices and adult learners , including commercial courses , bespoke employer-led programmes and higher education .
It incorporates an all-new carbon capture rig , designed and built to help train and inspire the next generation of net zero engineers .
Green ambitions in TEN spotlight
Two of the region ’ s major clean energy projects were the focus of Tees Engineering Network ’ s latest event , hailed as the “ best ever ” by organisers .
More than 100 delegates turned out for the event , hosted by leading Middlesbrough logistics firm AV Dawson and the Port of Middlesbrough , to learn about supply chain opportunities for the key schemes .
David Jack , Seah Wind ’ s global sales manager , was on hand to share all the opportunities springing from the firm ’ s £ 450m offshore wind turbine monopile production facility , currently under construction at Teesworks .
Aimee Hill , head of supply chain at Green Lithium , also gave a presentation to the business community about how they can get involved with the UK ’ s first large-scale lithium refinery , set to be built in the region .
Tees Engineering Network is spearheaded by Jamie Brown , CEO of Francis Brown , Rob Johnson , director of Axiom Engineering Associates and Sharon Lane , managing director of Tees Components .
Event – Speakers at the latest meeting organised by Teesside Engineering Network , attended by more than 100 delegates .
800 NEW HOMES Proposed plans to deliver more high-quality amenities for residents of Wynyard Village , including a community centre and medical facilities , have been submitted to Stockton Council . The joint venture between North-East firms Cameron Hall Developments and Jomast Developments also includes up to 800 new homes .
It is the largest single development project since Wynyard Village was founded around 20 years ago and could create significant employment opportunities for the local area .
NEPIC WINNERS Sembcorp UK Energy and its staff were the big winners at annual awards for the North- East process industry , with the Teesside firm winning five categories .
Hardwick Hall ’ s Coleman Suite , with its impressive chandeliers , was a fitting setting for this year ’ s North East of England Process Industry Cluster ( NEPIC ) annual awards and dinner .
The event celebrated the exceptional achievements of the individuals and companies in the process industry across the North-East and was attended by 400 industry leaders .
SCHOOL EXTENSION Students at Kirkleatham Hall School are celebrating the completion of a £ 2.7m extension .
The investment has allowed for the creation of a purposebuilt rebound centre , a new single-storey extension for two new classrooms and a sensory / therapy room , as well as doubling the size of the school ’ s main hall , widening corridors and creating a new main entrance and reception area .
