NEW MD FOR AV AS BOARD RESTRUCTURES
AV Dawson , owner and operator of Port of Middlesbrough , has undertaken a major restructure of its board of directors .
The changes will allow for further sustained business growth and long-term succession within a new group structure .
Gary Dawson , former managing director , has assumed the position of chairman of the AV Dawson Group .
John Young , the former financial director , will now take on the position of deputy chairman .
The chairman and deputy chairman roles will concentrate on the overall direction of the wider business , giving guidance to directors and senior leaders and supporting strategic projects , including the group ’ s environment and energy strategy .
These changes will also see Charlie Nettle , former commercial and marketing director , promoted to managing director designate .
The port operator will also welcome two long-standing senior managers to the board .

C4DTI is officially launched
Funded by the Tees Valley Combined Authority ( TVCA ) and coordinated by the International Chamber of Commerce United Kingdom , the Centre for Digital Trade and Innovation ( C4DTI ) has been formally launched at its location at Teesside University in Middlesbrough .
Since it began its activities last April with the appointment of its first director , and after receiving strong support from ministers at the Department for International Trade and Cabinet Office , the C4DTI has already started its work of providing a practical framework for collaborative and open pilot work in digitalising international trade .

Louise Croce , has been promoted to people and culture director and Craig Lloyd will take over from John Young as group financial director , moving from his previous role as head of finance . Andrew Watkins will continue in his role as operations director .
Gary said : “ As chairman , I am following in the footsteps of my late father , Maurice Dawson .
“ As was the case for Maurice , I will still be actively involved in the business , but this change will enable other colleagues to develop and take more responsibility for running the business , while giving me more opportunity to support them .”
Charlie added : “ One of the main focuses in my new role will be to ensure each of our new subsidiary companies develops into a strong , sustainable business in its own right , to build AV Dawson as a whole .

ICL ’ S RECORD YEAR ICL Group has revealed a record year for sales , with overall income up by nearly 200 per cent .
The group president and CEO of ICL Group – the parent company of the ICL Boulby polyhalite mine in North Yorkshire – has announced that 2022 was a record-breaking year , with an increase of 44 per cent in group consolidated sales and operating income up by 194 per cent .
LEVELLING UP BOOST A boost of almost £ 18m for vital transport projects in the Tees Valley has been confirmed , with a further £ 16.5m set for Hartlepool and £ 20m for Redcar , as part of the government ’ s latest round of levelling up cash .
The Tees Valley Combined Authority bid to the Levelling Up Fund has seen £ 17.7m granted for walking and cycling infrastructure in all five of the region ’ s boroughs .
Hartlepool has also received £ 16.5m , with Redcar getting another £ 20m .

Mamas & Papas says it ’ s bringing its range of awardwinning travel systems , nursery furniture and children ’ s clothing to new and expectant parents in the area .
Relocated in a new 4,323-sq ft unit , the new store can be found next to Superdrug .
STEEL DEAL The £ 34m upgrade and revamp of Middlesbrough Station will see British steel used .
Teams are hard at work on the second part of the transport scheme , which will revitalise the station undercroft , create new walkways and spaces for businesses and boost capacity for more rail services .
Story Contracting is carrying out work now , with diggers busy on the site , while Middlesbrough-based CB Construction ( Cleveland ) has been commissioned to fabricate the steel .
