Festive – Durata put together hampers for their Cause for Christmas campaign .
even though I have been doing my job , Alison and Jasmine have asked me what I want to do and about any areas where I want to develop .
“ They have given me the opportunity to say what I want to do and because I like the idea of doing more in sales and marketing because of the experiences I have had as an apprentice here , I ’ m now going to be doing more of that and it ’ s exciting .”
Even though these are just three examples , it provides a short insight into how Durata is planning for a brighter future .
Middlesbrough-born Alison said : “ We will utilise as many local channels as we can , be it local colleges , training providers … we want to keep it local .
“ The electricians all have the basic electrical knowledge they have trained for . We want to expand on that . We will put those on test and inspection courses or design and verification , to ensure they meet the 18th edition of the current working regulations .
“ It is important to us that our staff keep up to date with modern regulations and meet the accredited Continuous Professional Development ( CPD ) standards to keep Durata up to speed .”
Managing director John McGee added : “ We have guys on courses every month . We want them to be of the highest possible standard .
“ We want to be the best . We have a reputation for doing an excellent job and we want to uphold that and exceed expectations . We want our clients to want us back . The only way we can do that is to invest in the people who work for us .”
While excelling across the country in meeting the needs of clients to deliver critical power solutions alongside the introduction of a personal development strategy for its workforce , Durata has worked hard within the community to make a mark too .
It has struck numerous sponsorship deals , both in professional and amateur sport , while there have been regular visits to local schools to highlight to the next generation how there are other career paths for children they may not have thought about .
Adding social value to the business has been done in other ways too .
Durata is a gold sponsor of the MFC Foundation and recently donated bags of matchday programmes and scarves to try to stimulate the brains of those suffering from dementia .
It is an Infant Hercules member of the Teesside Charity , with the aim of raising money to spread across the community through other charities .
And Durata ’ s team put together festive hampers for the Cause for Christmas campaign , aimed at helping children who need it the most . In recent years the business has ensured that some struggling families have had a festive dinner to eat on December 25 .
There is clearly much more to life at Durata than data centres , uninterruptible power supplies and satisfying customers .
Andy Mullen , the installations director , said : “ Mo Yousef , our junior project manager , told us this week that this is the first time in his working career he has really enjoyed going to work . That puts a smile on our face . It means we must be doing something right .
“ We like to think it is a pleasure to go to work but to hear it from Mo , who works with the lads in the field , even though they have to put in the hard work , is really nice for us .
“ People can go to work for the sake of it , but we do feel there is a strong camaraderie between everyone here .
“ We are all on the same page and it is exciting for the likes of Mo and the rest of the team to look at where the company is going .”
