TRAINING AND APPRENTICESHIPS

WINNER : MEDIPRO

A Stockton-based firm ’ s ongoing commitment to medical training saw it pick up the Training and Apprenticeship prize .
And delighted MediPro director Kirsty Wharton said it capped an “ amazing year ” for the company , with new sites in London and Cambridge and a team which has “ grown enormously .”
Kirsty said : “ It hasn ’ t been overnight success – we ’ ve been here quite a while – but for us , it ’ s about working methodically and slowly and if you get the quality right , it comes naturally .
“ We can see we ’ re getting a great variety of people from all different backgrounds , especially post-Covid . People who weren ’ t automatically involved in health care are now taking an interest because they were involved in it when they were helping out during Covid .
“ It ’ s great for us to see people coming from all different backgrounds into the ambulance services and into healthcare .”
Kirsty said of the awards night : “ I don ’ t remember anything like this when I was young . It ’ s been wonderful to network with other women in other businesses .” And as for what ’ s next for MediPro , she revealed : “ We ’ re still expanding , still recruiting and I think we ’ re going to go further into the technology market after this .”
MediPro is one of the country ’ s leading providers of pre-hospitals education in the UK , training ambulance personnel , paramedics , offshore medics and others .
The only private sector organisation accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council to deliver full paramedic Level 6 training , it is also a registered apprenticeship training provider for ambulance apprenticeships .
