“ The Tees region ’ s a great place for business because of the incredible talent that lives and works here – the recent Tees Tech Awards was a fine illustration of this .”
My biggest frustration about the Tees region is … the belief that we are somehow the worst place to live in the UK – I challenge anyone to visit Saltburn or the North York Moors and be anything but awe-inspired . I love bringing friends from outside the region here , they just love it .
My favourite local charity is … We are members of the Infant Hercules Charity Club ( part of Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation ) and we support My Sisters Place too . Both do incredible work in our area .
When I ’ m not working , I like to … visit our holiday home in France . We bought it many years ago and it used to be a doctors ’ surgery , but we ’ ve renovated it from top to bottom and now we rent it out . It ’ s our little home from home .
My guilty pleasure is … Bob Mortimer ’ s ’ Train Guy – laugh out loud funny and I defy you not to recognise someone you know on there .
When I ’ m stressed about work … generally I take the dog for a long walk and then open a bottle of wine . I ’ d love to be able to meditate but my mind is always racing , sadly .
Not many people know this about me but … I am quarter Italian .
In retirement , I ’ ll spend my time … living in France , picking grapes , drinking wine and eating cheese .
