Calm Digital and Intasite
Since 2015 , Middlesbroughbased Calm Digital has led the innovative build of the Intasite digital platform – a bespoke site entry platform that can be delivered remotely to clients , staff and visitors .
“ It ’ s an amazing platform that ourselves and 2020 Media came together to develop and we ’ re totally overwhelmed to have won the Tees Tech Awards Partnership category because of it ,” says director Helen Stewart .
“ The team are so excited as it ’ s our first award in 11 years of business . After lockdown everyone needed a boost , and this couldn ’ t have come at a better time .”
Helen is doubly thrilled that Calm Digital ’ s inaugural award tied in with the debut of the Tees Tech awards .
“ We ’ ve never had awards that are specific to our sector , especially in the local area , so to have them here on Teesside with the Boho Generation and the new plans that are in place is just fantastic . It really puts the spotlight on Teesside and we will definitely benefit from it .”
Helen has seen amazing growth over the last few years in the tech sector and is excited to be a part of its future .
“ We ’ re a great digital hub here . There are so many truly amazing companies and so many up and coming ones . It makes you proud of where you ’ re from .”
Calm Digital director Helen Stewart receives the Tech Partnership award from Konrad Rutkowski , financial director at category sponsor Communicate Technology Plc .
Finalist Sapere and Absolute Antibody Stockton-based Sapere are digital transformation experts delivering software consultancy , bespoke software design and development and software support .
Absolute Antibody is a contract research organisation offering services in the sequencing , production and engineering of antibodies for the biopharmaceutical market .
By partnering with each other , the two firms successfully transformed the digital landscape for Absolute Antibody , converting the business-critical offline spreadsheets used to manage the creation of antibodies to an automated , bespoke , world-class piece of web software .
The partnership created a product and service with real innovation in process automation and information delivery .
Finalist Intasite and PD Ports Middlesbrough-based Intasite worked alongside PD Ports ’ security and IT teams to help with the implementation of a new , automated gate system .
The project had to retain industry-best average gate-to-gate times , so Intasite created an application programme interface ( API ) which meant reduced gate queuing for hauliers .
It also had to improve visibility of units and their status and availability , assist in planning of fleet for deliveries and collections and deliver easier management of driver induction status , as well as optimised safety and security , by reducing the number of people in the gate lanes .
Sponsor ’ s message
“
These are the first awards specifically for the tech sector on Teesside , so of course we wanted to be involved ,” enthused Communicate Technology PLC ’ s financial director , Konrad Rutkowski .
“ Tech is a massive industry and I think the rest of the country under-appreciates just how good ours is . The range and diversity of entries in the Tech Partnership category was incredible and I ’ ve had my eyes opened to just how many fantastic businesses are out there .” Winners Calm Digital impressed due to their entry being so current , among many other factors . “ With what ’ s going on in the world today , Calm ’ s product ticked the all-important health and safety box due to its minimal contact ,” Konrad says . “ It was a very worthy winner indeed .”
