Chloe Clover ( Wander Films )

Chloe is a familiar and wellliked face on Teesside where she speaks at various events , bringing her down-to-earth charm , energy and honesty to the room and inspiring other young people – especially women – to enter the digital industry .

Fiercely proud of the region , Chloe drives Middlesbrough-based Wander Films forward with gusto , and in two short years they have become the goto firm for video marketing .
“ It feels incredible to have my name on the Rising Star trophy , I really am humbled ,” says Chloe .
“ To be shortlisted from such amazing entrants has blown me away , and it was super close between myself , Ben and Ryan . Perhaps I was chosen because you don ’ t see many females in the industry . Whatever the reason , I ’ m stoked , but I couldn ’ t have done it without the team . Everything we do at Wander is 100 per cent a collaboration – we ’ re all working towards the same goals and ambitions .”
As Wander were already commissioned to do the shortlist videos for the Tees Tech awards , winning an award took on extra significance for Chloe .
“ It was so exciting and fresh and it made such sense for the awards to be digital – we can ’ t wait to see what next year brings !”

Finalist Ben Doherty ( Tascomp ) Ben joined Billingham-based Tascomp on work experience in 2015 and then later as an apprentice from Middlesbrough College .
He completed his apprenticeship in 2017 with a distinction and a permanent contract . Ben is now a valued member of the Tascomp team and regularly receives positive reviews from customers .
He ’ s the resident expert on PlantRun systems and was the lead engineer for delivering PAMS for the UK ’ s first digital air traffic control tower .
Ben has completed the site acceptance tests and will soon be training customers as well as starting to work on the more complex Prodigy systems .
Finalist Ryan Jessop ( Carbon DMP ) Ryan gained a BSc in Mathematics with first-class honours and an MSc in Mathematics with a focus on statistics from Durham University .
At Middlesbrough-based Carbon / Clicksco he began as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership ( KTP ) associate with a brief on machine learning and artificial intelligence advancements .
Ryan is now a full-time data scientist at Carbon . At just 23 he is still very early in his career , paving the way for even more growth . He has made a major contribution to the company ’ s core USPs and innovations and continues to take responsibility for a number of projects .
