The Competition Center
Our school is part of the California HIgh
Desert Robotics League, and we enter in
competitions that take place at Ranchero
Middle School in Hesperia. It’s located in
the Mojave Desert and takes about an
hour’s drive from here. Their school has
a main central cafeteria where teams
compete, and a practice room where
teams can practice using their robot
before their next match. Participating
teams travel there monthly to compete
and the top teams at the end of each
competition advance from county-wide
competition to the state-wide
competition.

school attends competitions with 30+
other teams.
What the Competition is Like
The judges and inspectors who attended
the competition.
The competitions last from 7:30 a.m. to as
long as 6:00 p.m. Although this is very
long, they have a snack bar where
everything is $1. There, they have Cup of
Noodles, Sports Drinks, Hot Dogs, Pizza
Rolls, Chips, Hot Cocoa, and many more.
We compete in rounds, where we get
called up. The rounds can be whenever.
However, they give you a schedule so that
you don’t miss when your going. If they
call you numerous times, and you don’t go
up, you can become disqualified.
