Standing Out Art By: Elora C. Staff Member, Grade 7 Intro By: Natalie C. Staff Member, Grade 8 A term we’ve all heard before: standing out. Although some may not see its significance, it may spark a feeling of change in others. Many students may feel like they’re just another face in the crowd, suppressing their true colors. Some may even force themselves to be the same as others just to fit in with others. Standing out may seem like a simple term, but it holds much meaning: to just be yourself. You don’t have to express it much, but it’s certainly better than forcing yourself to be someone you don’t want to be. Go ahead, be the sun that shines through the clouds. Whether it’s laughing and smiling at every little joke instead of stifling it in, or sharing your bright thoughts and ideas to everyone. Even in the littlest ways, letting yourself just be you can feel so 5 incredibly warm. Standing out from the crowd is a decision that only you can make, so go ahead and let yourself decide.
