Amaris gave a confused expression towards Apollo. “Excuse me?” The deity of light gave a small smile. “I asked, will you dance with me?” Amaris still had a questioning look on their face, but nonetheless, they accepted Apollo’s hand. Apollo took the uncertain deity’s other hand into their own. Apollo had never asked someone how to dance before, in all honesty; they were too busy staring at Amaris to do that. Apollo would just have to wing this dance. The sunshine deity hesitantly placed their right hand on Amaris’s shoulder blade, trying to remember bits and pieces of ballroom dancing that they’ve seen in Earth films. Apparently, Amaris had done this before, because they immediately placed their hand onto Apollo’s shoulder. That just made Apollo even more nervous than they already were. They started off with a simple ballroom dance: the box step. Even though Apollo was almost positive Amaris knew more about ballroom dancing than Apollo themselves would ever learn, they still went along with it, dancing around the temple in circles. There wasn’t any music, but that was alright; the two were so focused on each other, the music would be drowned out anyways. The two of them soon started to dance faster, both of their gowns flowing with each swift step. This was no longer a box step; instead it had become a dance between light and darkness. Apollo was almost positive they knew what this feeling was. It was love. Amaris seemed to have mutual feelings as well. So there they were: two sun and moon dorks dancing together and in love. Could this get any better? And even though the two of them may have thought they were alone to themselves, little did they know millions were watching them dance below in the form of a total solar eclipse, shown across almost the whole world.
