As students, we all have that one icon you aspire
to be like. Be it the Kardashians, Rihanna, Chanel
or any other celebrity stylist which is okay
because they inspire you. The main important
thing is to always remember to do you. In the
words of FenaS Gitu, “keep it classy, keep it real”.
There is nothing as beautiful as a man or woman
who’s comfortable in his own skin.
The key thing is accepting who you are and know
you are beautifully and wonderfully made as the
scriptures put it.
Ladies makeup is usually part of our wardrobe it
should not be used to camouflage who we really
are but rather to enhance it. Just minimal is
enough, be careful with the kind of products you
use because not all of them are skin friendly.
Another reminder is to remove make up before
going to bed.
When it comes to clothes, dress your type. Just
because it looks good on me doesn’t necessarily
mean it looks good on you. We are all blessed with
different body types and skin tones. So, dress
according to your body type and accentuate your
best features. A nice pair of shoes will also do you
good. As Coco Chanel puts it, “before you leave
the house, look in the mirror and remove one
accessory.”
Finally, let us not make fashion lead us into
forgetting the core business that brought you to
school or work. We all come to school to study or
go to work to perform our best and that should
always be our main objective.
