• Learn to be confident – A lot of teenagers get nervous when interviewing for a job. You need to start working on building your confidence. Confidence is something that employers look for.

• Be ready to admit your naive – Employers tend to value a person who has experience over someone who doesn’t. This is where you must learn the art of humility. Don’t be afraid admit your lack of experience, but do assert that you are willing to learn. Tell your potential employer that you want to opportunity to learn new skills that in turn will lead you to better jobs in the future, and that you believe that their company is the right place to start.

• Have goals – Most teenagers do not have goals. Employers do ask this question! Well, at least the good ones. What do you want in life? Where do you see yourself? Do you want to have a great career or live a miserable existence? You shouldn’t set goals for an employer but for yourself! Goals show the world how much you really care about yourself.

• Don’t give up – No matter how many rejections you get or unanswered applications, do not give up. Someone gave me a chance one day, and that lead to me to find better jobs. There is someone out there who will give you that opportunity. So just keep applying. Whatever you do, do not give up!
