Where does teenagers’ money go?
Christopher Pina
Dear Reader,
Here in America there is an substantial amount of items that can be bought all around
the country. From branded shoes to cars and movie tickets, many teenagers here in America
like to spend their money on clothes, entertainment, and especially, something that everyone
needs, food. About 21% of teenager's money goes to clothes, 18% to food, and the rest to
excessive products.1 Teens nowadays spend around six times more than adults on clothing,
two times on entertainment, and an excessive fourteen times more on food. Although
teenagers obviously do not make as much money as adults, they still manage to spend more
money. As for myself, I tend to save as much money as possible, separating from the crowd
and trying to contain a good amount of currency for any emergencies, or to just reward myself
for completing a task or goal or
receiving good grades. Also for
buying someone a special gift
for a special occasion. Other
than that, the money stays in
the bank. This country is a true
blessing and offers many
opportunities when it comes to
financial success, giving the
young American people a reason to cherish the things they have now that can be achieved
in the near future.
Sincerely,
Christopher Piña
