threw a club so hard at a golf cart after his bad shot that it damaged the side of the cart. Another golfer flung a club down the fairway and missed clobbering another golfer in the head by inches. I( politely) told the guy,“ If you ever do that again, it will be the last time I invite you to play.” I then told him,“ If you want to throw something, throw yourself— the club is not the thing that hit the bad shot or needs to take lessons!” He felt horrible about it and has not thrown clubs since— or taken a lesson— LOL!
" Stupid Club.. You Go in the Water too!"
Don’ t be this guy!
Remember, golf is a game of sportsmanship, honor, and etiquette. Study golf etiquette and the rules of golf on the USGA website if you are new to golf( or need a refresher course) before you seriously start playing the game. Golf is the only game played where you call penalties on yourself and keep your own score( honor). It’ s what makes the game fun and you a person others want in their foursome. Playing with honor and etiquette also helps you improve. Watching your golf ball sail beautifully down the middle of the fairway and sinking an exceptional birdie putt is what keeps us coming back for more fun shots the next time we play.
Golf: It’ s About Having Fun! Playing well and time with enjoyable friends is a bonus. `Till next time, it’ s fairways, greens, and birdies.
