Since purchasing the course , Stallings has implemented upwards of a half milliondollars in upgrades , including a new state-of-the art short game practice area that includes 5,000 square feet of hitting / chipping areas to a second 5,000-squarefoot green completed in 2016 . There are two sand bunkers for players to practice sand shots as well . A new cart storage building was completed in Spring of 2018 , and new carts are purchased every two years . He has more upgrades planned .
Another benefit to playing the course during the fall and winter months — it allows carts on its lush green Bentgrass fairways throughout the winter , making rounds faster and more enjoyable .
The par-5 10th hole is yet another long par 5 , 554 yards from the Black tees . A well played tee shot and lay-up could card a birdie here .

Perhaps the best par 3 within the KC Metro is the 11th hole at Stone Canyon . Teeing off from a cliff to the green below is only about 100 yards , but it ’ s a fun shot to a very undulated green . Making par here is challenging .
