It’ s Leprechaun Season
Leprechauns are known to be golf enthusiasts who appear at golf courses worldwide near St. Patrick’ s Day, tricking golfers in various ways. These mythical creatures are frequently depicted as little bearded men wearing green coats, tall hats, and big shoes, engaging in various antics that irritate golfers.
These creatures are also described as golf shoemakers who often hide pots of magical gold golf balls at the end of rainbows and near isolated tee boxes bordering the forest. Leprechaun-like creatures are rarely seen; however, golfers often report hearing faint giggling sounds while teeing off from isolated tee boxes. It’ s spinechilling, causing golfers to duckhook their shot into the woods. Terrified, the golfers will take a penalty shot rather than enter the woods to search for the ball. Many believe that these mischievous Leprechaun tricksters collect those lost balls to create their magical gold golf balls, allowing them to birdie every hole. The best advice— beware of faint giggling“ Teehee-hee!” sounds while you’ re teeing off this month, it’ s a telltale sign that a diminutive supernatural being is lurking nearby. And, whatever you do, don’ t touch their magical gold golf balls, it will really piss them off and you’ ll duck-hook shots the rest of the day— they only work for Leprechauns!
Now that you’ ve been formally warned about potential Leprechaun antics, it’ s time to start thinking about taking your game to new horizons. A good place to start is at The Lake of the Ozarks. The freezing cold of winter has thankfully subsided, and we eagerly anticipate warmer temperatures and the return of golfing activities. The rolling hills and fairways of the Ozarks will be filled with golfers once again, and you can be among them. Want to start planning your spring golf getaway and have something wonderful to look forward to? Check out page 26 for help on where to start.
You could also expand your golf horizons this spring and summer by heading south to Monkey Island, OK, for a two- or three-day getaway to Shangri-La Resort, located on the Grand Lake O’ The Cherokees in northeastern Oklahoma, for the ultimate 45-hole golf getaway. Page 16 has all the exciting details about golfing at Shangri-La.
Channel your inner Leprechaun and find your pot of gold by golfing new courses yet to be played this year. With your inner Leprechaun’ s cunning, agility, and trickery, you may capture a few more birdies and favorite courses to play. But don’ t let those faint giggling“ Tee-hee-hee!” sounds bother you while you’ re teeing off this month. The sounds could be emanating from a diminutive being in your foursome.
