Best Tee I’ ve Ever Used

How I used one G3 Flex-Head Tee for 5 years

For most golfers, I suspect golf tees are no big deal and will use any old tee, even the leftovers lying around on the tee box. It’ s just a golf tee. Who cares! And, how in the world can one go on, and on, about a golf tee? Hang with me, because for some golfers, the correct tee means everything; it can make or break their tee shot and entire golf round. So much so that they cannot mentally focus on the upcoming tee shot if they don’ t have the golf ball perched perfectly atop their favorite tee. I’ m that guy!

I’ ve been using G3 Flex-Head Tees for 15 years. I repeat, the same tees for 15 years, and for every drive teed up. It’ s quite common for someone in the group to razz me when I tee it up on my precious G3,“ Oh, Bill’ s got his favorite tee out again— Mr. Down the Middle.” My response, always the same,“ I love it because I’ m teeing it up at the same height every time, and it never breaks!” Again, it’ s the only tee I’ ve used for the driver over the last 15 years— and they never break.
In fact, when I first got the G3 Flex-Head Tees in 2011, I used one G3 tee for nearly five years. Yep, that one tee lasted me five years and several hundred drives. Sadly, on one tee shot, I lost that tee. It started raining, and I rushed off the tee box, hopped in the cart, and headed for shelter. Once at the clubhouse— oh, crap, I left my G3 tee stuck in the ground. Some other lucky golfer is now using it— for another five years!
Nevertheless, my friends always give me a hard time if it flies out of the ground after a tee shot. They know, it’ s hunting time— I( and they) will search endlessly until it’ s found. Of course, after all the razing, and watching my tee shot sail down the middle and flying well beyond their tee shots hole after hole, they want me to give them a G3 tee to try, or they will ask where to buy them.
Beyond my boasting about long down-the-middle drives with the same tee repeatedly, in reality, the largest inconsistency for golfers is teeing the ball to the same height every time. G3 Flex-Head eliminates that issue. It is also the largest issue that can change your game.
The importance of“ consistent tee height” and“ centeredness of contact” is why I prefer G3 Flex-Head Tees. I’ m sure that if you ask a PGA professional or club manufacturer, they will tell you that you must tee the ball at the correct height to get the most out of your driver— AKA, hitting it in the sweet spot.
G3 Flex-Head Tees have what’ s called a“ Shoulder” that stops you from pushing the tee too deep in the ground. That“ Shoulder” is also a“ Pointer,” an arrow that shows you the way to point the tee toward the target when inserting it into the ground. You always point the arrow toward your target.
Shoulder and Pointer This makes the“ Bending
Relief Holes” in the tee shaft align correctly. The tee will work just fine in any position, but the low resistance“ Snap-Flex” is achieved with the holes toward the target. With the“ Snap-Flex,” the tee never breaks— how do they stay in business? I never need to buy new tees. Well, you do lose them eventually!
No need to try balancing your ball on a tee. With G3 Flex-Head Tees, the ball literally can be flopped on the tee. G3 tees have a“ Tri-Pod” set method that creates literally no interference. The Tri-Pod set has low resistance( friction) of the ball’ s release. The ball is always impacted first and is on its way before the club contacts the tee. When the ball is struck properly, the tee rarely flies out of the ground.
The tee’ s surface is shiny. It makes the tees look super cool and helps keep the soil from sticking to the shaft, so your pockets stay clean. And guess what? It also helps the tees sink into hard soil.
The G3 – Brilliant Colors
The“ Optic Yellow” is a popular option for today’ s golf balls. The“ Optic Orange” is a close second. I like the red, Chiefs fan, you know!
