HOW TO
Get the Right Clubs for Your Junior
by Eddie Hall , Equipment Writer
As golfers , we all love the game of golf and enjoy the many benefits it offers . We also understand that for the game to grow , new golfers need to enter the game . The group that represents the largest possible number of new golfers is the juniors . They remain the future of the game ! There are some excellent reasons why our youth should play golf . Juniors learn etiquette , how to handle success and failure , and develop lifelong friendships ; plus , it is great exercise . When a junior golfer comes into the game , they are not unlike any other new golfer . They need to have fun and experience some level of success to continue playing the game . A huge factor in that success is the equipment that they will use .
When a young golfer first tries the game of golf , they need to have good clubs to swing properly . A parents ’ hand-me-down clubs are typically too long , and the shafts are too stiff for them to swing . Often clubs are cut down for the young golfer . Although the clubs may now be a usable length , the junior will still have trouble swinging them because , unfortunately , now the shafts are even stiffer . We know that if young golfers don ’ t have the correct clubs that give them a better chance to succeed , they are more apt to give up on the game . There are many reasonably priced club options on the market today that can enable a young golfer to have fun and learn to enjoy the game of golf .
