Happy New Golfing Year
Congratulations, we’ ve made it to 2026, a new golf season full of fresh challenges and more new-to-us courses to explore. The big question as we enter a new season is always,“ Will we play better and score lower this year?” Will we freely give even more four-foot gimmes this year than last year? So many unknowns. Still, the new year promises many new opportunities and, hopefully, fun times on the course.
It’ s also that time of year to mark your calendar in preparation for The KC Golf Show as it returns next month. Golfers can get a jump-start on the 2026 season with big savings on the must-have hottest new clubs, shoes, bags, and accessories from the top equipment manufacturers. Plus, KC golfers could score plenty of freebies, including“ Front Door Bonus” giveaways as you enter the show floor. See page 8 for more about The KC Golf Show.
As I mentioned earlier,“ Will we play better and score lower this year?” remains the million-dollar question. But there’ s always that golfer in the group who seems to be on a roll, no matter how tough the course gets for everyone else. My saying on those rough days is,“ I may not always hit my ball in the fairway, but when I do, I’ m sure to shank the next one.”
For that golfer in the group who always seems to hit the ball straight and true— perfect shots, no matter what— you could be considered The Most Interesting Golfer. I remember back to 2006, when the popular Dos Equis beer commercials aired, featuring The Most Interesting Man in the World and the hundreds of distinctive( or hilarious) cool-guy quotes voiced during the commercials, ending with him saying,“ Stay Thirsty, My Friends.”
Sadly, the advertising campaign ended in 2018. However, his awesomeness lives on with us through that Most Interesting Golfer in our foursome. In the spirit of The Most Interesting Man in the World, just for fun, I’ ve created a top 12 Most Interesting Golfer quotes list. There could be many more, but space is limited. I hope you enjoy them and find a few that relate to the golfer in your group( male or female).
The top 12 The Most Interesting Golfer quotes. 1. When teeing off, his tee lands back in his pocket. 2. He once had an awkward moment on the first tee, just to see how it feels. 3. His golf ball slices in the correct direction— always. 4. When putting, the hole gets in his line. 5. He’ s never lost a golf game of chance. 6. He wins golf tournaments that he has never attended. 7. Ticks refuse to bite him purely out of respect. 8. Golfers loose carryover skins to him on purpose. 9. He has no need for a GPS or laser rangefinder— his golf ball refuses to miss a fairway or green. 10. He is as good at golfing both left- and right-handed. 11. Riding foursomes want to follow him— walking. 12. He only birdies the 18th hole— for the fun of it!
Happy New Year! May you enjoy each round of golf in the new year while focusing on having fun and enjoying friendships, the scenery, gimmes, and mulligans. Stay Thirsty, My Friends.
