Set high in the rugged beauty of the Missouri Ozarks, Cliffhangers is far more than a round of golf— it’ s an unforgettable experience. The course lives up to its name with dramatic elevation changes, breathtaking views, and holes ranging from 65 to 157 yards, all meticulously carved into the region’ s iconic limestone cliffs with flowing creeks and numerous waterfalls.
If you’ ve ever played Buffalo Ridge, Mountain Top, or Top of the Rock, then you’ re familiar with the spectacular rock formations, outcroppings, and water features surrounding the courses. At the new Cliffhangers course, you’ ll get all those features on steroids— and some! However, if you miss the greens, your sand game will certainly be tested.

Not ready to complete the day just yet? Go Again on # 1 and # 10— 20 Chances for a Hole-In-One. Johnny and JP placed two deathdefying cliffhanger tee boxes on holes # 1 and # 10 to give golfers a total of 20 chances for a hole-in-one during their round.
Commitment To Golf, Nature, and Conservation
The expanding golf portfolio at Big Cedar Lodge is bringing to life father and son’ s vision to create a landmark golf destination that combines a shared appreciation for nature with a premier golf experience, all with an emphasis on conservation.
“ This is golf on the edge— literally,” said Johnny Morris about Cliffhangers.“ We wanted to create something that celebrates the natural wonder of the Ozarks while delivering an unforgettable adventure for every golfer.”
Golfers will traverse steep mountain trails and lush Zoysia approaches leading to undulating Bentgrass greens, each hole offering a new surprise. The course itself is a signature loop the likes of which have never been seen in golf. Players will drive carts through cascading waterfalls, cross through swift-flowing creeks, and journey into a dramatic cave system— culminating in a tee shot launched from inside the cavern through a waterfall and onto the green. It’ s spectacular!
“ Cliffhangers reflects everything we love about nature, adventure, and golf,” said JP.“ It’ s wild, fun, and unlike anything in the game of golf today!”
Cliffhangers marks Big Cedar’ s third par 3 course, joining the exclusive ranks of legendary Top of the Rock— the first-ever PGA TOUR-sanctioned par 3 course designed by Jack Nicklaus— and Mountain Top, a Gary Player design known for its 13 scenic walkingonly holes. Together, these courses highlight Big Cedar’ s ongoing commitment to redefining the short course experience. There are high expectations for Cliffhangers to become a bucket-list course for anyone who loves the game of golf.
When you play at Big Cedar, you’ re not just enjoying the game— you’ re helping conserve the wild heart of the Ozarks for generations to come!
All Big Cedar Nature Golf Courses have been gifted by Johnny Morris and are part of a not-for-profit conservation foundation focused on educating the public on the importance of conservation and sustainability. Profits from all green fees are used to support conservation efforts.
