SACRIFICE meets HOPE FLAGS for HOPE Creates a Sea of Flags at Golf Courses
On July 4 , the Midwest Section PGA launched its FLAGS for HOPE campaign to help provide our veterans and active-duty military with lifelong therapy through the game of golf . The campaign will run through August 30 and invites golfers ( or anyone ) to make donations at participating golf courses for flags to honor our veterans . The goal is to create a sea of red , white , and blue from September 28 to October 5 at participating golf courses .
Look for “ The FLAGS for HOPE ” signs and social media posts at your local golf course , and / or visit https :// midwest . pga . com / foundation / flags-for-hope for more information and to donate ( for flags ) before August 30 . This is your opportunity to step up and salute those who protect our dreams . Help create a sea of red , white , and blue .
The FLAGS for HOPE campaign is sponsored by the PGA REACH Midwest charitable 501 ( c )( 3 ) foundation , an arm of the Midwest Section of the PGA of America ( MWPGA ). PGA REACH Midwest ’ s mission is to positively impact the lives of youth , military personnel , and diverse populations by enabling access to the MWPGA , its PGA professionals , and the game of golf .
PGA HOPE ( Helping Our Patriots Everywhere ) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH Midwest , the charitable foundation of the MWPGA . PGA HOPE introduces golf to active-duty military and military veterans to enhance their physical , social , mental , and emotional well-being .
The PGA HOPE program offers a six-week curriculum to introduce veterans to the game of golf . It is led by PGA professionals who are trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency . These programs are fully funded by PGA REACH and supplemented by the Midwest Section PGA Foundation . This means that all veterans can participate in these programs free of cost .
A Salute to Those Who Protect Our Dreams .
By donating to FLAGS for HOPE , you can help enhance the programs offered to those in need . The goal is to sell 50 flags at each participating golf facility ( it seems like golfers can step up and do far better than that for our veterans ). Every donation makes a difference .
