The PGA TOUR Returns to St. Louis For First Time in Nearly Two Decades

The 2026 BMW Championship returns to St. Louis, MO, for the first time in nearly two decades at Bellerive Country Club, and golf fans across the Midwest eagerly anticipate watching the World’ s best golfers tee it up August 20-23, 2026.

For Missouri golf enthusiasts, August is proclaimed PGA TOUR golf month! In fact, Missouri golf fans will be taxed for time traversing I-70 between St. Louis and Kansas City. You see, the Korn Ferry Tour’ s AdventHealth Championship, Kansas City’ s only PGA TOUR-sanctioned event, is also held the same weekend, August 20- 23, at Blue Hills Country Club and is broadcast nationwide on the Golf Channel. Proceeds from the BMW Championship annually benefit the nationally acclaimed WGA’ s Evans Scholars Foundation, which awards full tuition and housing college scholarships to deserving youth caddies. Since 2007, the event has raised more than $ 60 million for caddie scholarships, helping send more than 4,000 young men and women to college.
The top 70 players in the FedExCup standings will qualify for the first FedExCup Playoffs event, the FedEx St. Jude Championship( Aug. 10-16) at TPC Southwind in Memphis, TN, with those players exempt for Full-Field Events and THE PLAYERS in 2027.
From there, the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings advance to the BMW Championship( Aug. 20-23), contested at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis for the first time since 2008. Players who advance to the BMW Championship are fully exempt for the following season and qualify for all Signature Events in 2027.

Back to the BMW Championship in St. Louis at Bellerive Country Club, one of golf’ s most storied venues.“ Bellerive has a proud history of hosting golf’ s biggest events, and the passion for the game in this community is undeniable,” said Vince Pellegrino, Western Golf Association( WGA) Evans Scholars Foundation Senior Vice President of Tournaments.“ With the energy we’ ve seen so far from fans and businesses across St. Louis, we expect this to be a special week that showcases world-class golf and makes a significant contribution to our charitable beneficiary, the Evans Scholars Foundation.”
The 2026 BMW Championship will be a milestone event for the city of St. Louis and the region alike. In addition to being the BMW Championship’ s first visit in nearly 20 years, the event will mark the first time many of the PGA TOUR’ s best have stopped in St. Louis since the 100th PGA Championship in 2018. Bellerive is also scheduled to host the 2030 Presidents Cup.

The BMW Championship field of the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings will compete for the J. K. Wadley Trophy and a spot in the season-ending TOUR Championship. This makes the BMW Championship a very important event for players! Past champions include the 2025 Champion Scottie Scheffler, as well as Keegan Bradley, Viktor Hovland, Justin Thomas, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, and Tiger Woods. The top 30 players at Bellerive will then advance to the TOUR Championship( Aug. 24-30, 2026) at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, GA, where the FedExCup Playoffs champion will be crowned.
