by Eddie Hall , Equipment Writer
Spring has arrived , and so have the new irons for 2023 . After a great year for equipment sales , all the manufacturers continue to put their best foot forward to try and keep the momentum going . Let ’ s look at some of the entries available this year .
PING G430 irons
Tour Edge Exotics C723 and E723 irons
Tour Edge Golf is a company that is sometimes overlooked , and it should not be when we talk about irons . It makes quality irons , and the 30-day play guarantee is a big advantage . The Tour Edge Exotics C723 and E723 irons take advantage of the company ’ s VIBRCOR Technology , where TPU is injected into a hollow body cavity to produce more ball speed . There is also more feel produced with this process .
PING Golf utilizes a proprietary heat-treating process to create Hyper 17-4 stainless steel and strengthen the face of its new G430 irons . It also uses an innovative new badge with seven flex zones that allow for more free bending called PurFlex Technology . What does this mean to you ? This process allows for more flexing of the clubface , resulting in faster ball speed . Faster ball speed equates to more distance . To enhance forgiveness , PING uses Tungsten toe and shaft tip weights that contribute to its extreme MOI . MOI refers to the amount of twisting that the club does at impact . The higher the MOI , the less twisting , which helps off-center shots , resulting in a straighter shot . The PING G430 irons are a must-try when looking for your new sticks . Retail average : $ 943.50 to $ 1,188.25 .
Both models also use Diamond Face VFT . Diamond-shaped patterns are placed behind the face and act as mini trampolines , contributing to the greater ball speed . The C723 features a smaller clubhead to appeal to that player that wants a clean look . The E723 uses a 360-degree Undercut Design to give the player a higher ball flight and some more forgiveness . Both clubs perform great for our golfers , and you should also give them a look .
