TREND RESEARCH I used WGSN to look at predicted trends for S/S 2018. I looked at materials and textiles for each trend and the different colour palettes for each of them. I used this information to help me decide which trend I will base my 20 piece range on. I had to think about what colours and patterns would be in keeping with Ted Baker’s brand image but also would appeal to a younger target market which is the reason for this collaboration. After looking at each of the predicted trends I think that Kinship will be the best option for my 20 piece range. I think that the materials and patterns are best suited to Ted Baker and Georgia Toffolo’s style. The blocked stripes pattern will work well in the range for a jacket or for trousers and the amplified graphics will work for a dress or a jacket. Corded rope will be perfect for what I have in mind for the range, I think it suits Toff’s style perfectly and will work really well with Ted Baker. It is definitely already a popular material with young people so I think it will be perfect for the range. I think that the colour palette will suit the designs I am thinking of for the 20 piece range, the colours are mainly bright and will be suitable for the Spring and Summer. The colour Honey Gold is used to add a bolder and brighter level to provide a youthful lift. As I want the range to appeal to a younger audience I will need to ensure that the colours are suitable to achieve this aim. The colour Crocus is used to add a modern touch to the colour palette, it is a bright colour so it will work well in a S/S range. Kinship colour palette
