Expectations per Grade Level
Teachers need to integrate technology seamlessly into the curriculum instead of viewing it as an add-on, an afterthought, or an event. –

The LDOE has put out a list of technology skills to address per grade level (see below). ISTE has updated their tech standards for students (click link on opposite page).
At PPSB we've asked what skills you wish students had when coming into your classrooms but recieved very little feedback. In some cases, the technology culture at the school is dependent on which teachers are comfortable with or inspired by technology. This makes it difficult to have progress by grade level. What can we do so all students have the same foundation at each grade level? In the late 1990's I was a the technology department chair at a middle school. We met with a teacher from each content area and set up a plan on what tech skills/projects would be implemented throughout the year to support the classroom curriculum. This made it easier on the teachers and students as each subject area reinforced the skills that were covered using their own content. The first year was the most challenging but after that - we really flew along. When I was an elementary school technology lab teacher, it was left up to me to teach the technology skills while integrating classroom content. These skills were often lost as students only came to my room once every two weeks and the skills weren't reinforced in the classroom unless the classroom teacher was with the students in the lab.
How would you suggest PPSB integrate tech skills into the classroom ?
