BATU PAHAT April 12 - Various events and activities will be held in conjunction with the opening of Karnival Fiesta Mesra Belia 1 Malaysia Daerah BATU PAHAT.

“The government will be facilitator to making what youth desire and are interested in, a possible reality,” he said at the signing of two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between the National Service Training Department (JLKN), 1Malaysia For Youth (iM4U), and Youth and Sports Ministry at the Perdana Putra Building, here.

One of the MoUs was between the JLKN (Defence Ministry) and iM4U, with the iM4U programme to be introduced to the National Service Training Centre (PLKN) trainees and ex-trainees.

This MoU was signed by JLKN director-general Datuk Abdul Hadi Awang Kecil and iM4U Board of Trustrees member Datuk Irmohizam Ibrahim.

The other MoU was between the Youth and Sports Ministry and iM4U, whereby the ministry will hand over the Rakan Muda Complex in Puchong to iM4U to be transformed into an iM4U Centre.

The MoU was signed by the ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Mohid Mohamed and iM4U Executive Committee chairman Datuk Seri Farid Ridzuan, followed by the handing-over of the mock key of the Rakan Muda Complex to iM4U.

With the signing of the MoUs today, Najib said about 240,000 PLKN trainees would automatically become iM4U members within three years.

He said youth’s involvement in the movement would promote the spirit of volunteerism among the young generation and facilitate the national transformation agenda.

“Besides this, we will try to attract the participation of the estimated 730,000 PLKN alumni to boost the programme.

trainees by contributing RM2,500 to each of the 81 National Service training camps throughout the country.”
