Happy New Year !
Welcome to the winter 2024 edition of TechWatch Magazine . In this issue , we have articles from best-selling author and motivational speaker Nick Vujicic , world-renowned Entrepreneur ’ s Organization founder Verne Harnish , and ghSMART Chairman and Founder Geoff Smart . In our cover story , on page 4 , Vujicic speaks on reframing challenges to overcome adversity . After that , you ’ ll find our customer success story on page 8 . Harnish reviews Part 2 of the Rockefeller Habits for growing your business sustainably on page 10 , and on page 12 , Smart goes over how to achieve more with less as a business leader . Finally , on page 15 , we discuss buying a cyber insurance policy and why it ’ s important to be transparent about cybersecurity initiatives in your organization .
It ’ s a new year with new ideas and a fresh start . Let ’ s stop putting off the things that are important . For example , every year I say I ’ m going to lose weight and then I put off going to the gym . If I keep putting off losing weight , sooner or later I ’ m going to have a problem . It ’ s the same with your cybersecurity : if you keep putting it off , the bad guys are , eventually , going to get in . Don ’ t put off your cybersecurity for another year ; let ’ s get it done now .
In other news , Small Business Tech Day on November 16 went great . Adam Cheyer spoke on AI and it was fascinating . I , personally , learned a lot from him . We also heard from Mike Michalowicz , who I don ’ t think can talk without sharing some good information about building your business . It was definitely an event you didn ’ t want to miss . A lot of you don ’ t know that bad guys are using AI to fake voices and images along with other similar
techniques . For example , there was a breach a few months ago where a bad guy posed as a company ’ s internal IT guy . They deep faked the IT employee ’ s voice , got into the network , and held the company ’ s data ransom .
Over the years , we have had numerous companies call us after a breach seeking our help . Obviously , we much prefer to protect companies by keeping intruders out rather than trying to remove them from the company ' s infrastructure later .
Helping people is a big part of my personality . It ’ s why we do IT and cybersecurity , why I started Quinn Tech and why I decided to publish this magazine .
