Highlights of Staff / Parent / Administrator Surveys! ! Staff! • Relatively equal distribution of responses by building at the current moment! • Staff classified themselves as a beginner (14%), confident on their own (46%), very confident (37%)! • In general the response time for technology assistance at the building and the district meets or exceeds expectation! • 94% responded agree or strongly agree that the principal support student use of technology in the building! • 30% of staff and had less than 10 hours of instructional technology training with in the last four years with an additional 47% having less than 30 hours over the same timeframe! • Staff indicate their biggest need right now is how to design learning projects using technology followed by managing learning projects the use technology and developing assessments for those technology projects! • Staff indicated that their preferred professional development methods were school/district provided training followed by on-demand learning, conference workshops, school study teams and in school mentoring program! • Staff overwhelmingly utilize email to communicate with parents while very little usage of voicemail was identified! • The remainder of the staff survey provides classroom usage and comfort level and is provided to the professional development subgroup for their analysis.! ! Parent (1012 responses)! • Relatively equal distribution of responses by building based on enrollment! • Equal distribution of responses by grade (10-12% at each level K-8) ! • 100% responded that they have a computer and Internet at home for the child! • 96% responded that they have wireless Internet access at the home! • 41% responded that the child has an email address (decreased with lower ages)! • 44% allow their children to access the Internet without direct supervision (decreased with lower ages)! • 19% responded that they have between zero and two Internet capable devices at home while 38% responded that there are 6 or more devices! • 70% responded that their child’s access to technology at school is adequate with 20% not sure! • 77% responded that they strongly agree or agree that their child has strong technology skills! • Math e-Suite is the most accessed software package from home! • Less than 25% responded that their child accesses the custom typing, world book Encyclopedia, espresso education, or discovery education videos from home!
