ways to teach content, knowledge of what makes concepts difficult or easy to learn and how
technology can help redress some of the problems that students face and knowledge of how
technologies can be used to build on existing knowledge.!
By simultaneously integrating knowledge of technology, pedagogy and content, expert
teachers bring TPACK into play any time they teach. Staff need to develop fluency and
flexibility not just in each of the key domains (T, P, and C), but also in the manner in which
these domains and contextual parameters interrelate, so that they can construct effective
solutions. District 25 has been using the TPACK framework for 3 years in various contexts to
build up an understanding of the elements of the framework as well as a basis for some
professional development. This Technology Plan formalizes the TPACK framework as the
underlying foundation for all professional learning experiences developed from the plan.
This process will include identifying the TPACK focus for the participants and provide
opportunities for staff to not only build their own TPACK but have practical experience
planning lessons based off of the TPACK principles.!
