Slowing Inertia
For being essentially just one guy from
Parkdale, OR, Slowing Inertia makes some of
the most massive post-rock jams around. The
heavy, atmospheric instrumentals take a lot
from bands like Mogwai, while also culling
diverse sounds from electronica, metal, and
everything in between.
Flight Club
Hailing from Richmond, VA, this foursome
plays an unusual but compelling blend of
pop, punk, and blues. The result is
melodically clever enough to rival Weezer
and Fountains of Wayne, with an aesthetic
that would make Jack White's ears perk
