Tear in the Radio #2 - The Stolen Volume 2 | Page 58
Before they were known as
The Stolen, the four boys from Old
Bridge, New Jersey began as a basement classic rock cover band that
sung extremely vulgar lyrics not
suitable for a ten-year-old. Then, that
was all the members – front man
Dominick Cuce, guitarist Rob Chiarappa, bassist Kevin Smart, and
drummer Mike Chiarappa – knew in
their hometown, all growing up together as next door neighbors and
Little League teammates or even
marching band partners – with the
exception of Cuce. “Mike, Kevin, and
Rob played cymbals and I didn’t! I
played sports in high school!”
Three years later, their act as a cover band soon expanded to scoring
a gig at The Stone Pony, a night Rob
Chiarappa remembers as the moment that inspired everyone to start
creating their own original music.
