On Monday we were straight into our diversity week events with our ‘women in leadership’ Q&A sessions led by members of the AH Diversity Group. Our panels answered questions about their own careers and how they achieve work/ life balance. They gave advice on what women can do to achieve their goals and explained what AmicusHorizon is doing to support female members of staff. They also gave some brilliant examples of female role models. www.ahintranet.org.uk/teamtalk 6 In Kent, staff said it was great to hear from women at all levels in the organisation. They felt, it was a fresh, open and honest discussion with some great advice. In London, lots of lively discussion and advice for women on how to develop their careers. Staff said all panel members were knowledgeable, had some brilliant examples to share and were really encouraging. Being a woman is not a barrier to career progression but a stepping stone to greatness. It’s up to individuals to challenge themselves and embrace the career development opportunities available within AH. In Sussex the conclusion was really positive; female staff feel supported and enabled by AmicusHorizon to progress in their careers. There was a strong feeling that male and female staff should be supported in the same way and given equal opportunities to achieve their full potential. Thanks again to all our panel members who were so open with their answers and had some brilliant advice to share. Edition 71 - February 2016
