What is hope?
In my opinion, Jeremiah put it best: Chapter 29:11”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares
the L ORD , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Hope is powerful. It is the light in a dark world. If we can give a person hope, we will help them to have a
new life.
Hope is only found in Jesus Christ. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
When we have hope, we will not give up. When we are focussed on the One who will never leave us or
forsake us, we will have hope when circumstances seem to be impossible.
Hope means that we believe that something better is to come. Jesus Christ and His promises about what He
has in store for us, are the only hope with a guaranteed positive solution to the problems in our lives, today
and in the future. Hope means that we are alive because of Him. Through Him we have eternal life.
Hope means that we are alive because of Him and through Him, we have eternal life.
Hope means that when we look at our circumstances, we don’t see them as they are. We look at them
through the eyes of Jesus. We can look at our circumstances and see them according to the hope promised in
the Word of God.
Hope means that “we will run our race marked out for us” because we can see the finish line.
How can we start developing our hope in Jesus Christ?
We can start by accepting Him as our Saviour. Surrendering to Him so that He can be Lord of our lives and
then we must allow Him to run our lives so that He is all that He can be in us and we can reach our full
potential.
It begins with us, laying down our old selves and putting on His robe of righteousness.
“It is doubtful whether God can bless a man greatly until He has hurt him deeply.”

“We need never shout across the spaces to an absent God. He is nearer than our own soul, closer than our
most secret thoughts.”

‘’Always, everywhere God is present, and always He seeks to discover Himself to each one.”

“We can know the right words yet never be changed. This is the difference between information and
transformation.”
